I have gone through the installation guide four times. I have re downloaded and unzipped all of the DLCs and the DLC unlocker and I have gone through the trouble shooting solutions twice and restarted my computer twice but the packs still aren't showing as owned

Sul Sul, Asperwolf! The latest DLC Unlocker was released February 27. That should fix your issue. Otherwise, you might need to use a different file extractor like 7zip. It's tested and proven to have no issues. Hope this helps. Dag dag!

DeleteIt looks like the files were placed in your "Documents" folder, which isn’t the correct location for game installation files. The Documents folder should only be used for mods and CC, not for the game or DLC files themselves.
Please follow the DLC Installation Guide, specifically Step 8, where screenshots showing the correct file location are included.

I thought you put them in the folder where the sims 4 files are installed? That's the folder the EA app created when it installed the sims 4 base game

DeleteThe folder created by the EA app is indeed where the base game is installed, but mods and CC work a bit differently. They should always go in the Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods folder, not in the game installation directory.
Game and DLC files belong in the installation folder, while mods/CC must stay in the Documents folder for the game to recognize them properly.
If everything is placed in the correct locations, it should resolve the issue. Let me know if you’d like me to double-check anything for you!
You may want to change the instruction guide to say that, because the photo definitely has them in the parent folder and not the mods folder
ReplyDeleteThe instructions is for DLC installation, hence, it is called DLC Installation Guide and that is why it shows the game installation folder and not the Mods folder.

I'm having issues with the dlc unlocker, it was working fine before and I had the dlcs I wanted and I didn't move a thing, I just installed the DLC unlocker everytime it uninstalled and it worked as a charm until like a month ago. Now every time I try to play, my sims don't have clothes or hair and in the game it says that I have everything installed, that usually happens when I don't have the DLC unlocker installed but it's been installed the whole time and still the game doesn't recognise it, I don't want to play it because I'm afraid it's going to corrupt or something, idk if the dlc is obsolete or did I messed it up, could you please help me?
Sul Sul, Boci243! Thank you for following the comment format as the information you provided helps us understand your issue and gives us an idea on how to help you fix it. Based on the info you provided, I see 2 possible reasons for your issue:
Delete1) Your game version is old and may no longer be compatible with the DLC Unlocker. You may need to update your game, in that case.
2) You didn't mention whether you checked if mods and CCs are enabled in your game. If you're not sure how to do that, you can follow this guide on How To Enable Mods and Custom Content.
If those 2 are not what you think are the cause, try redownloading the DLC Unlocker and run it like usual. Hope this helps.
EA App doesn't let me play unless it's updated, and EA has not asked for an update, I've tried repairing the game and it's still the same version.

9) Until days ago, all my dlcs were working perfectly but then my base game updated to the latest version and then all the dlcs were desactivated, i run again the dlc unlocker and now they work fine except for EP 19, EP 17 and EP 20, and the game says the i have them "adquired" but they arent showing in the game.

Sul Sul, lu! Thank you for providing the above info. Here's what I recommend you try:
Delete1) Temporarily remove all mods/CCs just to rule them out and delete the localthumbcache.package file
2) Disable/uninstall any cloud drive/storage that you have just to rule them out as well
3) Redownload the latest DLC Unlocker and run it like usual
If that doesn't fix it, check out our TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS and try the solutions there.

DeleteIt appears that the files were placed in your "Documents" folder, which isn’t the correct location for game installation files. The Documents folder should only be used for mods and CC, not for game or DLC files.

ReplyDeleteI was having this issue as well. What I had to do to fix it was take the zipped files, put them into the right path folder, and THEN unzip them. That made them work for me!

Packs 19,20 and 21 show as owned but I can't use them. In select world it says that they need to be downloaded and the game restarted in order for me to use them. I've deleted and reinstalled the packs, deleted and reinstalled the dlc unlocker (both multiple times), run repair on the game, turned off mods, removed my mods, and disabled scripts. What else can I do?
Sul Sul, Pat85! Thank you for providing details about your issue. Please refer to this GUIDEon how to check your game version. The latest game version is 1.124.63 that was released last 5/21/2026. If yours is different, then you would need to update your game.
DeleteAs to your missing DLCs, if you scroll up to the top of this page under ‼️ Important!, you will find a LIST OF COMMONLY REPORTED ISSUES. Click on item 3 and try the suggestion there. Make sure to not put back your mods while you're troubleshooting.
If it still doesn't work, delete the DLC files, redownload them and use 7zip instead of Ashampoo. Ensure that you are installing the DLCs in the correct location as shown in the DLC Installation Guide.

Hello, Ive got everything updated and all other packs that I have installed are working correctly. I'm having issues with the SP74 - Garden to Table pack though. This one did not come in the typical zip file like the others did and was a 7z file instead. Is there a diffrent process for this to work in the game vs the other files that just need to be unziped, moved to the sims game file, unlocked via the unlocker, then you are good to play?

Describe your issue: When I downloaded the Unlocker, it generated the prepare DLC unlocker file as a document instead of an executable (I had to give Terminal Full Disk Permission in settings, and use Terminal to give the document permissions with the chmod +x command) After that I was able to get the Unlocker app to generate using the prepare DLC Unlocker executable, but when I go to open it, my Mac says the application cannot be opened (not the Gatekeeper message about malware, but just it can't be opened, with no reason). There is no option in the Security settings to Open Anyway. Ive tried to look online for how to fix this but nothing is working so far, I am hoping you can help. Thanks for all you do

DeleteSul Sul, Simiam! It sounds like the "prepare DLC Unlocker.command" file may not have been created with the correct executable permissions initially, but since you were able to run it and generate the Unlocker app, the current issue is likely happening at a later stage.
DeleteA few things to check:
1. Try right-clicking (or Control-clicking) the generated Unlocker app and selecting "Open" instead of double-clicking it.
2. If macOS says the app cannot be opened without providing a reason, open "Applications > Utilities > Console", then try launching the app again and look for any related error messages. Those logs can help identify whether the app is being blocked by macOS, is corrupted, or is missing a required dependency.
3. Verify that the generated Unlocker app isn't empty or incomplete. You can check its size in Finder by selecting the app and choosing "Get Info".
Could you also let me know:
* Which macOS version you're using?
* Whether you're using an Intel Mac or Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/etc.)?
That information should help narrow down the cause.

Sul Sul, saddy! Thank you for sending the details about the errors you are encountering. That truly helped a lot.
DeleteBased on the LastException error, one of your mods is outdated or incompatible with the current version of The Sims 4.
When the game was loading interactions and animations, it expected to find a certain piece of data, but the mod provided something different. Because of that, the game couldn't finish loading part of its interaction system, which can lead to other errors or odd behavior.
Please remove your mods and CCs temporarily, delete the localthumbcache and last exception errors, and try testing your game on a new save. Make sure you don't have an active cloud storage like OneDrive that could potentially restore the mods and CCs you just removed and the files you just deleted and therefore mess up your game.
If you installed the DLCs correctly and ran the Unlocker without issues, then your game should work fine.
As to your mod problem, here's what you can do:
Update all of your script and gameplay mods to versions that support The Sims 4 v1.124.63.
Delete the localthumbcache.package file before launching the game again.
If the error persists, use the 50/50 method (testing half of your mods at a time) to identify the outdated mod.
What types of mods are most likely responsible?
Mods that add or change:
Gameplay interactions
Custom animations or poses
Social interactions
Autonomy
Carrying or holding objects/Sims
Other script-based gameplay features
