BEFORE YOU START:
Make sure:
- You are using a 64-bit Windows system (Windows 8 or newer)
- You have the legit base game installed (downloaded from the EA App or Steam)
- You have no mods/custom contents installed
- You have kept a backup of your user data (saves, Tray, etc.)
- Your EA App/Steam and game are updated
- You have a file extractor such as 7-Zip or WinRAR
- You have the latest DLC Unlocker tool to activate the packs. If you downloaded the it before November 20, 2025, that one is old and may not work.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Part 1: Download and Place the DLC Files
1. Choose the DLC you want to install from this website.
Open the page for your chosen pack and click on "Unlock it for free!".
2. A new page will open showing a list of all the DLCs. Click on the DLC Name of the pack you have chosen to go to the download page.
3. Once you are on the download page, click on "GENERATE LINK".
Press and hold the “Generate Link” button for a second to reduce pop-ups.
4. Wait for the system to create the download link.
5. Click on "DOWNLOAD" to download the file.
Save the DLC archive to your computer.
6. Extract the downloaded archive.
Unzip the file (If you're unfamiliar with unzipping, check out this guide). The folder named after the DLC code (ex. EP01) is the one you need.
7. Find your Sims 4 installation folder.
Open the main game installation directory on your computer. This is where the base game is installed—not the Mods folder.
Usually, you can find it in this location (unless you changed it):

If you can't locate your game installation folder, you can check it in the EA App as shown below.

8. Move the DLC into the game folder.
Copy the entire extracted DLC folder into The Sims 4 installation directory.
This is how it should look when you have all the DLCs installed. The files are now in place but must be activated before running your game.
Part 2: Activate the DLC Using the Unlocker
1. If you haven't downloaded the DLC Unlocker yet, download it now and unzip the file. Open the unzipped DLC Unlocker folder, locate the setup file, and double click to run it.
A command-prompt window will appear. Your mouse will not work, so use your keyboard in the following steps.
2. Install the Unlocker.
Type the number 1 on your keyboard then press ENTER. Next, type the number 2 and press ENTER to Add/Update game config. Approve any system permissions.
3. Type 2 Add/Update game config
4. Select The Sims 4
When prompted to choose a game, select The Sims 4 by typing the number 1 on your keyboard, press ENTER, and let the tool complete the setup.
5. Type q to Quit
6. Launch the game.
Once the Unlocker confirms successful installation, start the game. The DLC should now appear as available. If not, repeat the Unlocker steps or check out below troubleshooting tips.

1. Packs showing as “Not Owned” or "Not Available" in the pack selections
This issue most often affects newly released packs.
Start by making sure your game and tools are fully up to date, as mismatched versions are a common cause of this problem.
Steps to try first:
- Completely close The Sims 4 and your launcher (EA App or Steam).
- Open Task Manager and confirm that neither the game nor the launcher is still running in the background.
- Verify that your game is updated to the latest version.
- Make sure the DLC files are not under a sub-folder/s.This is wrong:
This is correct:
- Reinstall the DLCs using the most recent version of the DLC Unlocker.
- Launch the game and check whether the packs now appear as Owned.
If the issue persists:
- Old or leftover files from a previous DLC Unlocker installation may still be present. Do steps 1-3 from "Steps to try first".
- After that, delete the following folders if they exist:
- C:\Users\Your PC Name\AppData\Roaming\anadius
- C:\Users\Your PC Name\AppData\Local\anadius
- After removing these folders, run the newest DLC Unlocker again and confirm that no files are detected (the red status line should be clear).
- Launch the game and recheck pack ownership.
If the packs still show as Not Owned or Not Available in the pack selections, uninstall and download the DLC Unlocker again. Your current copy may be outdated, incompatible with your system, or corrupted.
2. Add-on items appearing as “Debug” in-game
If all items from installed packs appear labeled as Debug, this usually means the required language files are missing for your selected game language. When this happens, item names cannot load correctly.
To fix this:
- Make sure the correct language files for all DLCs are installed and match your current game version.
- Place the language files into the main game installation directory.
- Restart the game once the files are in place.
After installing the proper language files, item names should display normally and no longer appear as debug content.
Note that installing DLCs this way only unlocks the DLCs. You do not actually own them.

No, I was referring to the DLC you downloaded. It should be placed in the correct location. Try removing any remaining configuration folders (instructions on how to do it in TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS in the above guide) and repeat the DLC setup.

I'm having trouble installing EP 20.

If it works well for EP 19, then there shouldn't be any issues with EP 20 if you got it from here and used the new DLC Unlocker and followed the instructions to the dot. Since we have tested everything and works well on our end, something else in your system might be causing it. DeleteI see, so that's most likely why you are having issues. The DLC Unlocker is only when you have the legit game, and in order to have that, you need to download it from the EA App or Steam.

DeleteI cannot, for some reason, get sp67 or Golden Years to download I am using a 64-bit Windows system. I have the legit base game. I downloaded the golden years pack from here. I downloaded and use the December 12 version of the DLC Unlocker. I removed any remaining configuration folders before using the new DLC Unlocker. I install it in the correct location. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times to try and get it to work. and followed the direction and read through the guide multiple times to make sure I was doing this correctly. All the other kits downloaded Except for Golden Years.

Hello! I'm so sorry you're having issues with the installation of SP67. Can you try redownloading it through the alternative download link here by clicking on the DLC Code (SP67) instead of the DLC Name? If that doesn't work, perhaps you can try using the Updater instead? Link to it at the bottom part of this article, just above the comments section. Hope this helps.

DeleteI was able to figure it out, thanks for all the help, the updater i believe when in installed after using the article guide as guidance, created sp66 folder in the sp67 folder with the installer subfolder so I took out sp66 to the main sims 4 folder and use the document unlocked and turned on the sims 4 and it installed. Thanks for providing such great service amd access to the dlcs!!

ReplyDeleteSul Sul! It's not a silly question at all but a valid one. Our link shouldn't be asking you to download opera gx or anything else other than the unlocker. It's probably just an ad, which, unfortunately, we have no control over. Try using an ad-blocker or uBlock Origin or similar app/program to get rid of unwanted ads/redirects.

Parfois, lors du téléchargement de fichiers, un autre dossier est créé et les fichiers sont trop profonds pour que ton ordinateur les détecte. Vérifie si c'est le cas ici. Au fait, je ne parle pas français, j'ai donc utilisé Google Traduction pour traduire ton problème et cette réponse. J'espère que ça t'aidera.

Download speed depends on your ISP plan & connection type, server performance, network congestion, and your home setup (router, wiring, device), plus wireless interference (walls, distance) or background apps slowing things down. Key factors include your bandwidth (ISP), distance to servers, server load, hardware quality (router, PC), and network traffic, especially during peak hours. As per our host, download speed is not limited on their side, so do check the aforementioned factors, or try the alternative link under CODE column in the DLC List.

3. I downloaded them all one by one through the provided link yes
4. I downloaded and used the unlocker through the link provided, and it says december 12 yes. I should be said that all the packs do show up as owned AND installed, but the actual ingame items are showing up as missing textures.
5. I'm not quite sure what you mean here? It's a completely fresh reinstall of the game in a new folder location, and I've uninstalled/reinstalled the Unlocker through it's command window several times, both before and after reinstalling the game.
6. Do you mean the unlocker, or the pack files? The game is installed in it's own path on my D: drive , and the pack folders are in the game directory on said drive. The Unlocker is just hanging out in C:\\Downloads, but do I need to move it to the same drive as the game directory is on?
7. Onedrive is not the problem in this case, that much I can say for certain, as it does not sync in those locations at all.
Missing textures in the Sims 4 usually happens because of outdated or broken Custom Content (CC)/Mods, an incomplete game installation/patch, or corrupted game files/saves. You didn't mention having any mods/CCs, so if you don't have any, you might be dealing with either incomplete game installation/patch, or corrupted game files/saves.
DeleteYour game needs to be installed in this location, otherwise, there's going to be issues:
This PC\Local Disk C\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4
Your D Drive is not the best location to install your game and/or packs in as it is prone to syncing issues that could result to file corruption. You'd have to properly link it to your C drive and be extra careful when unplugging and avoid plugging it to a different usb slot as that, too, can cause issues.

DeleteI actually found out the dlc i had downloaded was too deep in the files to be recongized. If anyone else has that issue they have to take it out the folder. Thats for the quick response though

DeleteHey so I'm running into a problem with the new Unlocker not showing the DLC's to download/repair when they've been set in the correct folders, no errors, but they don't appear at all in the selection menu. I managed to use the older DLC Unlocker to get most DLC's active and owned, but 17 showed not owned, the most recent, which is where I'm running into this problem with the new Unlocker. They are all downloaded and located in The Sims 4 as well, and even when cut and pasted in other folders, still no detecting for selecting.

DeleteThe guide depicts the old DLC Unlocker being used, not the new one so I can't follow it precisely even with photos. I wouldn't know how to follow it since the guide hasn't been updated, since it just says to use the new one without the proper photos depicting it. In the New Unlocker it detects the installations, but in trying to repair or download it shows nothing listed. I tried following the Troubleshooting and basic steps but I'm not missing anything, the guide is. It mentions things like "TEMPFUNNY" not found, External Config also not found after pressing download/repair, yet still detects every folder. I may be missing something but it hasn't been well established.

That said, the old and new DLC Unlockers look and function the same—the main difference is that the newer version has been updated to support packs released after the original creator retired.

DeleteFirst time we've seen that DLC Downloader, so it's impossible to be linked in this guide. You probably got that somewhere else, or you accidentally clicked an ad. Best to use an adblocker (if you haven't) and only click on links that are specifically mentioned in the instructions in this installation guide. Make sure you download the DLC Unlocker (no. 7 in the BEFORE YOU START section in the above guide) and the DLCs only from our website to ensure safety and compatibility.
