How To Close EA App and EA Background Service
These simple steps will prevent the EA App and the EA Background Service in the background

To completely close both the EA App and the EA Background Service, you must manually exit the main app and terminate the background process through your system's task manager or services panel.

How to Close the EA App
The standard "X" in the corner only minimizes the app to the tray. To properly exit it:
  1. Open your system tray (the hidden icons area on the bottom right of your taskbar).
  2. Right-click the EA App icon.
  3. Click Exit.
How to Close the EA Background Service
Once the main application is closed, the EABackgroundService will continue running to check for updates. 
On Windows:
  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager.
  2. Look for EABackgroundService.exe or EA Background Service under the Processes tab.
  3. Right-click it and select End task. 
On Mac:
  1. Open your Applications folder, then the Utilities folder, and launch Activity Monitor (or search using Spotlight).
  2. Search for EA Background Services in the search bar.
  3. Click on the process and select the Force Quit (X) button at the top. 
How to Prevent Them From Running in the Background
If you want to stop the background service from launching every time you boot your PC, you can disable it through the EA App settings: 
  1. Open the EA App.
  2. Click the three horizontal lines (menu) in the top-left corner and go to Settings.
  3. Select the Application tab.
  4. Scroll down to the Startup settings section.
  5. Toggle off Enable background services
